Come play with us and learn music through yoga, stories, and imagination. In this special parent and child class, explore different ways that breath, instruments and movement can be used to cultivate confidence, self-regulation, foster creativity, build friendships, and encourage cooperation.
Early exposure to yoga and music has been shown to:
Improve fine and gross motor skills
Develop language and math skills
Promote self-regulation and soothing of emotions
Build self-confidence and self-esteem
Encourage teamwork and relationships skills
Develop a foundation of self-discipline
Winter Adventure in Movement and Music is a child and parent/caregiver theme-based class for preschoolers ages 3-5 years. Led by musician and music educator, Mandy Pankratz, each class will incorporate stories, singing, yoga, dancing, listening to music, and art. Children will have the opportunity to use their imaginations and explore a variety of musical instruments.
Over the course of 6 weeks, we will explore movement and expression based on winter themes:
1/13: Winter Wonderland + Problem-Solving
1/20: Animals in Winter + The Power of Yet
1/27: Snow and Ice + Change Sings
2/3: Chinese New Year + Don’t Give Up
2/10: Friendship + Kindness
2/17: Arctic Animals + Emotional Strength

Mandy Pankratz has had a passion for music since a young age and grew up playing flute. She received her B.S. in Music Education from Marian University in Fond du Lac, WI. Since graduating, Mandy has lived in MN and MD where she has taught private music lessons on all band instruments, piano, and voice. She has also taught Preschool at Lucy School in Middletown and Preschool and Kindergarten at The Banner School in Frederick. Mandy currently holds certifications as an Early Childhood Director in the state of MD as well as K-12 certification for Music. In 2020, Mandy opened her own music studio in Keedysville, Mandy’s School of Music, where she enjoys teaching a variety of musical instruments and classes for a wide range of ages. Mandy believes early childhood is a small window of time in a child’s life that influences their later years. She has a passion for creating engaging and enriching classes to give children meaningful experiences with music.
Since class is only 45 minutes - please plan to arrive to studio 5+ minutes before class so we can settle in and start on time!
