In this powerful episode, we take journey to talk about resilience, transformation, and entrepreneurship. From discovering yoga during pregnancy to overcoming depression, I shares how the practice not only changed my life but also led me to become a dedicated yoga teacher and business owner. I unveils the fascinating history of The Newberry building in historic downtown Brunswick, now a thriving wellness hub, and how Eric and I turned it into a space for healing, growth, and community. Dive deep into the world of Yin yoga as we chat about the science of fascia, the mind-body connection, and emotional releases that comes with the practice. But the path hasn’t been easy— I opens up about the real struggles of running a wellness center, navigating social media distractions, and the daily discipline it takes to stay grounded. Whether you're a yogi, an entrepreneur, or someone seeking inspiration, this episode is packed with wisdom, authenticity, and motivation to help you align with your purpose. Being a guest on In The Calm podcast was a truly meaningful experience and a such a profound honor. The host, Georgiana Alexander is a masterful guide and conversationalist who led me easily into sharing my yoga origin story and accounting some of the twist and turns of my own road of individuation, all of which brought me to where I am today as the owner of Roots & River Yoga, teacher of nearly three decades, and a forever student of the preciousness of life.

We took deep dives into the Fascia System, Depth Psychology, Chinese Medicine Theory and how they all tie into and through the Yin Yoga practice.

Yin Yoga has been the practice that soothed my nerves, healed my previously overworked power yoga body of the early 2000s and gave me a tool to aid in rewiring traumas of my childhood. This is the practice I turn to daily for gifts of self-care and regulation. Yin Yoga continues to make the MOST SENSE when practically applying a physical practice with my 25 years of Chinese Medicine study and approaching yoga with psychological lens for grounded self-development.

I invite you join us in engaging conversation. Reach out and let me know what resonated with YOU.
