We’d love to bring Restorative Yoga back onto our weekly class offering, so we decided to give it a 6 week trial. If you are needing a little more calm and rest to ground your life, this is the class for you! This limited 6 class series meets Thursdays, 7:30-8:30pm, May 19rd - June 23rd.
Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation through the use of gentle poses, supported by props, that are held for longer period of time. The main intention of Restorative yoga is to yield into stillness to foster a relaxation response in the parasympathetic nervous system - to soothe the mind and create a space of physical, mental and emotional ease. This practice is a great gift to unwind a busy day or overstimulated mind and come into a practice of deep nourishment.
Accessible to most everyone, Restorative yoga sequences utilize only a few poses in each class, and rested in for 5-15 minutes, to allow time for the nervous system to decompress. Each posture is created on the floor and supported by props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets that allow participants to rest and reset in deep relaxation.
