This limited 6 class series meets Tuesday, 7:30-8:30pm, May 3rd - June 7th. Offering in-studio only.
If you have been curious about meditation but felt intimidated because you are fidgety or easily distracted, this Instinctive Meditation series is for you.
Meditation is the practice of paying attention to the host of inner thoughts and feelings and then softening the internal judgment until a calm witnessing-state occurs. While some forms of meditation teach that the path to a quiet mind is sitting upright and still - Instinctive Meditation acknowledges that there are many gateways to guide the body and mind to the introspective space including movement, music, time in nature, stillness and much more.
Throughout the series, we will utilize the rich imagery of the Radiance Sutras by Lorin Roche, a fresh translation of an ancient meditation text, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, that invites the listener to explore the meditative experience as it comes through the senses.
In each class, we will explore gentle and accessible movements with breath while we cultivate your innate ability to enhance your meditation experience, find greater appreciation for life, recover from daily or accumulated stress, and hone your inner resources to care and calm your body and mind in all arenas of daily life.
Remember, we don’t need to turn off our thinking to meditate but rather to train our minds to notice the kinder and quieter thoughts, sounds, and images that that let our intuition speak.
Jaclyn’s pursuit to heal and find wellness led her to yoga in 2014. What she found in her yoga explorations is that one is welcome as they are. This level of acceptance and the foundational teachings of yoga captivated Jaclyn and inspired her practice and her desire to share yoga with others. Jaclyn completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training through Life’sWork Yoga and her 200-hour meditation teacher training through the Radiance Sutras school. Her intention as an instructor is to create a safe and compassionate space for yogis to have an authentic experience, to “come as you are.” In practice with Jaclyn, one can expect asana exploration, linking movement with breath, and mindful observation of the body’s sensations.
No previous meditation or yoga experience is needed to enjoy this practice.
This series will be offered for 6 consecutive weeks - Feel free to come to one or all of these offerings. This class will meet in-studio only (not virtually or recorded).
