In the Five Element tradition of Chinese Medicine, the Wood Element is honored throughout the season of Spring. During this time of year the natural world sends out the quick shoots of green, the fragrant spring flowers, and the tangible promise that the life cycle continues.
The organs associated with the Wood Element are the Liver and Gallbladder. These organs function by supporting the body's innate ability to renew itself, much in the way that the natural world expresses new life in springtime. Liver and Gallbladder psychologically govern the principle of growth - the new beginnings birthed out of dreaming and visions, and our ability to organize a plan of action to express that passion out into the world.
In this workshop, you will be guided through a full Yin Yoga session stimulating acupressure lines within connective tissues that support the Liver and Gallbladder organs and energetic meridian channels. In the long, passive holds, Machelle will share the physical and psychological associations of these organs as well as present the holistic gifts that can be revealed in the psycho-spiritual energy of the Wood Element.
The afternoon will be a meaningful experience to nourish yourself physically and psychologically as you transition into the season of Spring.
