Moon rituals are a magical way to connect with the natural cycles of life and nature. New moons remind us to check in with the parts of ourselves that are expanding and the areas of our lives that are experiencing new beginnings. In yogic philosophy, one big obstacle to letting go of suffering is what lives in our unconsciousness. As the new moon begins in darkness, we can use Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to explore the parts of us that are in the shadows to bring us into our own light.
The Blue New Moon is named as such because it will grow into the second full moon in this month. This is a rare occurrence so the spirit world support is strong. It’s a great time to ask the moon medicine to aid in the cleansing of stagnant energies in order to get clear on what we’re inviting in. The moon magic on this one is powerful and playful and can unleash our child-like qualities of creativity and spontaneity. Let’s lean into the new moon and connect to our creative spirit guides in a ritual of rest and setting intentions for the next phase.
