Winter Rest Workshop: Gentle Yoga, Pranayama, and Mantra Meditation with Manju Sadarangani

  • Roots & River Yoga 17 West Potomac Street Brunswick, MD, 21716 United States (map)

Join us as we sink into winter stillness, in a truly self-loving way spend our Sunday afternoon.

In winter, nature offers us an opportunity to rest deeply. Together, we will practice gentle rhythmic movement, pranayama, and mantra meditation. We will allow ourselves stillness to close chapters, and mine life lessons. All are invited to bring their journals, as we take the time to connect with our inner calm. Our intention is to honestly engage with that which already is, to allow ourselves to rest and let go.

We will conclude our practice with a soothing yoga nidra, a guided meditation to take us through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of profound relaxation. We will get comfortable in the studio and use props to offer ourselves space to explore what we need in the moment. A deep nidra calms the nervous system, reduces stress and promotes better healing - a wonderful way to let go of what no longer serves us.

Cost: $45

Manju Sadarangani teaches Kundalini and Nidra yoga at Lighthouse Yoga Center in Washington DC. Bringing her journey as an artist and diplomat to her classes, her yoga practice is grounded in a desire for equity, justice, emotional and mental well-being. She brings a spirit of play, body positivity and radical self-love to classes.

Born in India to a yoga-teacher mother, Manju resists the problematic cultural appropriation surrounding yoga and is committed to authenticity in the studio. She connects deeply with the feminist Advaita philosophical foundations of yoga. She relishes creating a safe space for all using pranayam, color, naad, and mantra in her classes.

Manju invites you to consider yoga as a tool to recharge, resist and rebel.
