This accessible fascia release practice will give you skills for some fundamental self-care, to unwind the day and experience the benefits of deeper breathing.
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move, but when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement and breath and even cause pain.
In this class, we will release layers of fascia all over your body using props and techniques. Special focus will be given to the diaphragm to free the tissues that influence nourishing breath. The goal of this class is to release fascial “stuck-ness,” decrease tension, and improve glide between the tissues for greater ease of movement and breath.
This practice will be on the floor. Everyone is welcome and no previous yoga experience needed to join.
