After the birth and recovery of baby Forrest, Cal is ready to return to Roots & River Yoga and continue her super fun Barre classes!
Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout that targets specific muscle groups using small, isometric movements, fast and slow repetitions, and elements of cardio derived from ballet, yoga, and pilates. The practice focuses on developing long, lean muscles while improving your overall strength, flexibility, and posture over time. Though typically one uses a ballet barre, we utilize a chair throughout class to perform exercises specifically targeting the thighs, glutes, and abs. Weight trainings with small hand weights and exercise balls are also integrated into each practice.
Modifications are offered and no previous Barre or dance experience necessary.
This class is designed for those looking for a more challenging and toning practice.
Cal discovered Barre in 2015 while living in Boston, pursued certification and began teaching in 2017. She found Barre to be a healthy outlet to reduce stress and to challenge herself physically and mentally. Cal quickly discovered that being a part of a Barre community is so much more than the workout itself – it is a space to make long-lasting and meaningful connections and friendships with people from all walks of life. Cal’s classes are fun and motivational with a strong focus on form and body alignment. She encourages her students to challenge themselves and dig deep within each class to find their mind-body connection and walk out of each class feeling strong, confident, and empowered.
Cost: $15 or Class Pass/Membership
