Are you in need of a massage? This accessible fascia release practice can give you skills for some fundamental self-care, to unwind the day and prepare you for a restful sleep.
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move, but when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement and cause pain. In this class, we will release layers of fascia all over your body using props, techniques, and yoga poses. The goal of this class is to release fascial “stuck-ness,” decrease tension, and improve body awareness.
This practice will be on the floor. Everyone is welcome and no previous yoga experience needed to join.
Cost: $20 - This workshop will be offered LIVE only and will not be recorded.
Please bring to class:
A tennis ball, racquet ball ball or a close approximation. Machelle has PLENTY to donate to you if you need one, just email machelle@rootsandriveryoga.com and we can schedule a pick up from a bag on my front porch (these tennis balls are Covid19 free and have been in a bag for ages).
Fascial release blue fascia peanut (if you have one) or a homemade “peanut” made out of three socks. To make a homemade “peanut,” use three (3) knee socks or crew socks, ball up 2 of them tight and put them side by side inside the third sock, and tie the end.
Tricia is a graduate of Willow Street and Body Balance Yoga teacher training programs (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) and is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). Tricia's classes focus on dissolving tension in the body, creating optimal alignment, and connecting with the breath. She clearly articulates alignment instructions based on her knowledge of anatomy and exploration in her own practice. Tricia is so grateful to be able to share the many benefits of yoga with her students.
