Relish in this nurturing and mindful Mother’s Day practice that will offer a heart-opening yoga flow to a jammin’ Mother’s Day-inspired playlist. Whether you are a mother, or you have a mother, or are looking to offer some sweetness to the caregiver inside yourself, we welcome you to take a break, breathe deeply, and honor all the great work that mothers everywhere are doing 24/7.
The nature of a flow class will have you getting up and down from the floor several times during the practice. This offering is open to all levels of yogis, from active/mobile beginners to those experienced with the asana flows. The practice, breath, music and our loving community will assist you in tuning into your mind and body in a ritual of self care!
This practice is offered as a donation, give-what-you-can (suggested $5-20) based class. Contributions will be collected in a bowl at our check-in desk on the day of the practice. Please bring cash or check. All proceeds will be given to support The Birthing Circle.
Lisa was introduced to yoga while in high school via one of her ballet instructors. She’s been an on-and-off practitioner since college and in recent years started deepening her yoga practice. She decided to embark on her RTY200 yoga training, with Balanced Life Yoga in Ellicott City, to gain a deeper spiritual and physical understanding of how yoga manifests in the mind and body. After becoming a mother in 2017, Lisa turned to her yoga practice to help calm her anxiety and cope with the stress of new motherhood. When she’s not practicing yoga, Lisa enjoys learning about interior design, exploring the pages of her cookbook collection and is working on developing her green-thumb. She has an energetic toddler named Andy and lives with her husband Paul and two noisy dachshunds on a quiet county road in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
