Yin Yoga utilizes floor poses held for 3-5 minutes each in order to modestly, within limits, target and stimulate fascia and ligaments through traction and compression on joint tissue. This basic introduction to Yin Yoga theory and its simple repertoire of poses is self-empowering for the support and wellbeing of the ligaments that make joint capsules, as well as the fascia of the low back, spine, hips, sacrum, knees and ankles.
Through a combination of lecture, discussion and a 2 hour practice, this workshop will explore the foundational principles of Yin Yoga, as well as the chemical responses that occur in the joints based on modern tissue regeneration research. Participants will somatically experience first hand how Yin Yoga is uniquely beneficial, and even rehabilitative, to fascia and joints.
This workshop is great for those who are curious about how the subtle approach can aid their joints and fascia, and for those who are hankering for a decadently long Yin Yoga practice!
All are welcome. No previous yoga experience needed. The only “requirement” is to be able to practice on the floor.
Cost: $40
This workshop is for everyone, beginners, experienced yogis and yoga teachers alike. Because of the educational nature of this workshop, certified yoga teachers can receive 3 hours of CEUs for Yoga Alliance.
