12-HOUR TRAUMA INFORMED YOGA IMMERSION/TEACHER TRAINING

In this immersion/training, we invite yoga teachers, therapists, those in the healing professions, and curious yogis to explore how trauma lives in the body and how yoga can assist in healing. We will discuss the prevalence of trauma, practice trauma informed yoga, and gain an accessible understanding of the science of trauma and learn how yoga can be a powerful tool to support those who have experienced trauma to heal.
This training is ideal for:
New and experienced yoga teachers who want to expand their teaching skills
Anyone interested in deepening their understanding and experience of trauma informed yoga
Therapists, body workers or those in the healing modalities in who wish to integrate trauma informed yoga in their offerings
For teachers and therapists, we will explore trauma informed techniques for growing your sensitivity to make your teachings more inclusive. For people seeking yoga or already practicing, these techniques may give insight in approaching your personal practice in compassionate ways. Kath and Whitney will provide guidance in self-care to inspire your personal practice, support those working in the field of trauma, and discuss yoga activism.
THIS 12-HOUR WORKSHOP IS YOGA ALLIANCE APPROVED FOR CEU’S AND ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.

Kath Meadows, MA, 500E-RYT. With a background in mental health wellness and yoga, Kath has been teaching trauma informed yoga and mindfulness in prisons since 2010. Recognizing the need
for materials that acknowledged the specific needs of the female prisoner, Kath wrote A Woman’s Practice: Healing from the Heart, an accessible yoga guide available for free to incarcerated people nationwide. In addition Kath is a contributing editor to Best Practices for Yoga in the Criminal Justice System and her work has been recognized by Yoga Journal, who named her Good Karma Award winner in 2015 and 2016.
Whitney Ingram E-RYT200 RYT500 has been a yoga practitioner since 2007 and a yoga teacher since 2012. Whitney is a co-teacher for Jala Yoga’s YTT offerings as well as an ambassador for the Prison Yoga Project. As a seasoned yoga practitioner and survivor of trauma, her yoga offerings are authentic,
